Bookstores with robots and libraries with tools

Wow, we’re not doing so well on this whole daily blog thing!  We’re working on figuring out a better way to systematize things (including soon to be daily Flickr uploads) and promise to keep on working on it.

But now down to business. What have we been up to these past few days? A lot. Turns out Seattle is even more awesome than we anticipated and we’ve been busy visiting different awesome places and meeting even more awesome people.

On the 10th, we did a bunch of sightseeing.  We took the truck on a ferry, kinda just for fun.

On the ferry, we met Captain Dan, who took a break from steering the boat to drive our truck off the ship.

From there, we headed to Pike Place market and grabbed a quick bite before heading off to Fremont and saying hi to one of the local residents.

After meeting the troll, we felt a bit hungry ourselves, so we stopped by Theo Chocolates and did a bit of light heavy sampling.

Before rolling the truck back downtown, we stopped off at Gas Works Park and did some rolling of our own.

We ended our day with an awesome coffee chat at Ada’s Technical Books in Capitol Hill.  We met a bunch of really awesome people (and some excited kids) at the bookstore, and were inspired to run an impromptu workshop!

On the 11th, we woke up bright and early to make a stop at Highland Middle School in Bellevue, and helped them kick off summer school with a buzz.

After grabbing lunch with our friend Nancy from Autodesk, we headed back to my aunt’s house to set up a special workshop for our very generous hosts.

It was fun.  I think my grandma liked the laser cutter :)

Thursday was another fun day. We’re going to be on the radio!

If you’re in Seattle, tune in to 97.3 KIRO FM sometime next week to hear me talk…about something!

We then grabbed some incredible pasta at Il Corvo, then headed to West Seattle to take in the view before we stopped by the West Seattle Tool Library’s open hours.

Today was a relaxing day of sleeping in, running errands, and eating a lot. We’re all looking forward to a weekend of decompression before we head south to Aberdeen on Tuesday.

Oh, and we finally got a small taste of Seattle’s signature weather!  Perfect for our day off!
