Trailblazing in Portland
We capped off our evening last night at ADX, an awesome community of makers, thinkers, and doers. While chatting with the cool people there, we started thinking about how we could help future intrepid travelers get likeminded projects off the ground and we need your input (details below)!

In typical fashion, we’d gotten in touch with Kelley, the creator of the space, a day before we arrived and she’d thrown together an awesome welcome for us including a pretty sweet parking spot…

and a toolbox full of swag!

We had a great time chatting with all the awesome people there.
It was especially cool to hear people talk about wanting to put together creative making trucks in their community as well. As we’ve been driving around the country, we’ve been hearing things like this over and over, and it’s made us think about how we might blaze a trail for other likeminded projects. We feel really fortunate to have had amazing support from groups like the d.school, Kickstarter, Autodesk and, of course, other friends and family, and we want to pay things forward.
Besides running workshops and raising awareness on creative exploration in education, we want to use our summer adventure as a way to pull together the stories, data, partnerships, etc. that will help likeminded projects get off the ground in the future. While we’re no experts in doing any of these things, we’re more than willing to try some things out, so if any of you have thoughts on things that we could do, data we might collect, or ideas we might test out please let us know (hello@sparktruck.org).
